Meet P’Rung & P’Kek

At the heart of Suan Na Ta Bua are P’Rung and P’Kek, your warm and welcoming hosts. Married for over 25 years, their story began at university, where P’Khaek was captivated by P’Rung’s beauty and often brought her food and gifts. This deep bond is the foundation of their farm and life together. They are eager to share their passion for organic farming and the rich culture of Isaan with you.

Today, their passion extends beyond their home to the wider organic farming community in Isaan. They are respected leaders, involved in Ubon’s PGS organic cooperative, partners with Ubon University, and recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture as a case study for agritourism in Thailand.

Beyond typical farm activities, you are invited to join unique cultural opportunities. Depending on timing and availability, you might have the chance to:

  • Experience authentic local festivals or market days alongside your hosts.
  • Join them for community events or educational workshops on or off the farm.
  • Accompany them on visits to other local organic farms.

Our Activities page details the full range of experiences – from daily farm tasks, to connecting with the heart of the Isaan organic community through these special opportunities.

When to Visit Ubon

Ubon has 3 seasons, influencing the landscape, rice cycle, and local life.

☀️🌾 Cool & Dry (Nov – Feb)

Enjoy pleasant daytime temperatures and minimal rain, ideal for comfortable exploring. The main rice harvest concludes (approx. Nov-Dec), leaving fields golden or resting before the next cycle begins.

☀️🕺 Hot & Lively (Mar – Apr)

Expect the year’s peak daytime heat. As temperatures rise and fields lie empty, the nights come alive. Prime time for vibrant Morlam Isaan concerts, and Songkran parties in late April.

🌧️🌱 Wet & Green (May – Oct)

Witness the landscape transform! Frequent rains (peaking Jul-Sep) bring humidity but create stunningly lush scenery. Rice planting starts (approx. May/Jun), leading to months of vibrant green paddies.
